Here at Hounds, we pride ourselves on providing a safe environment for your hound.  See below for information on what we have put in place to ensure your hound is in safe hands.

Insurance:

All hound team members are fully qualified in Canine CPR & First Aid Level 2.  Attending refresher courses.


DBS checks are carried out on all team members.

We are proud members of the Pet Industry Federation.


The Kit:

Hounds Pet Care use a specifically designed loose lead belt system when the dogs are on the lead.

We use boithane leads that are are wipeable/easy clean, strong and durable

Branded Hounds Pet Care dog tags are provided for each hound in our care with our name and contact details on.

ECO friendly and compostable towels, drying coats, brushes, shampoo and a portable dog washing unit is carried in the van for the post walk wash down.

Water is always carried, we use ECO friendly BPA free water bottles.


The van provides your hound with:

An top end eight crated system made to fit our van. Each dog will travel in their own crate.

Remote controlled air ventilated fan.

Comfy non slip vet bedding.

Non spill travel water bowls refreshed throughout the day in each crate.

Towels and our portable dog washing system.

Van dedicated Canine First Aid pack.


Is Hounds Pet Care right for you and your hound?

Hounds Pet Care can only accept dogs that are:

  • Friendly & Sociable
  • Happy and well behaved around other dogs
  • Can be in a pack environment
  • Travel well ( to and from walks)
  • Have sociable skills around other dogs and people
  • Can be off lead for walks and have a good recall
  • Do not have any behavioural issues that will effective them being in a different home
  • Dogs must be toilet trained

In providing care in our home we will require dogs in our care to have good sociable skills and manors.

We can not accept dogs that are food or item aggressive, or that mark in the house.

Although dogs are welcome on the sofa we do not accept dogs that climb on the back of the sofa.

We do not accept dogs that are know to chew furniture, house fixtures and fittings.

We can not accept dogs on the Dangerous Dogs Act list.

Our set up and service at Hounds Pet Care works well for our ethos and we enjoy hearing repeated feedback of how our clients dogs are enjoying their time at Hounds Pet Care.

We pride ourselves on providing a professional and knowledgeable pet care service where we really focus on the personal touch.

Our service and set up might not suit your needs. We are not able to alter or change what we provide to accommodate this.

We do however hold a list of reputable home boarding and day care providers. Along with dog walkers, pet sitters, dog trainers and behaviourists and will happily pass contact details on to you.

Hounds Pet Care is always learning, growing and progressing. Dedicated to completing Continual Professional Develop each year.

Covering skills such as canine behaviour, enrichment, training and socialisation.
